We would like to give a great big, heartfelt ‘thank you!’ to member of our Dudley Young Carers team, Tracey Dalloway, who has recently secured £19,000 of funding for the Dudley Young Carers service!
The money has been used towards Christmas activities, including a visit to Santa for 30 children, youth club equipment, as well as enabling 10 families to go on holiday during the February half term, allowing young carers and their loved ones the opportunity to take a much-needed break and change of scenery.
Tracey, who has been part of the team since 2020, is passionate about improving the lives of young people aged between 5 – 18 years old, whose lives are affected by caring for a family member who has a disability or long-term illness. She puts the children first and is truly committed to ensuring that they are supported, both physically and emotionally. And when it comes to organising fun activities for the youngsters, who otherwise may not get the opportunity to socialise, she always goes above and beyond!
Chris Christie, CEO at Crossroads, said “On behalf of myself, Graham Evans, Dudley Young Carers Lead and our Board of Trustees, thank you Tracey, for your hard work and dedication to securing much needed, additional funding for the Dudley Young Carers service. These funds will help us to provide even more wellbeing support and fun social activities for young carers across Dudley, who spend so much of their time caring for a family member.”
The Dudley Young Carers team provide one-to-one support with a dedicated worker, school support, including help with transitions to college or university, fun activities in the school holidays and much more.
