Crossroads aim to deliver a person-centred, quality service to improve the lives of people living in Birmingham, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton. We have currently received funding to deliver a new service ‘Finding your Feet’ which involves volunteers to provide support to people who may have just been in hospital, or newly diagnosed with a life-limiting illness. This can be a difficult time for families, and we want to offer some practical support while they re-adjust to their new caring role.

Why volunteer for Crossroads?

Volunteer support is highly valued at Crossroads and is essential in the delivery of this new service. We are now seeking volunteers, to come and join us at Sandwell Crossroads, who are interested in supporting an individual, taking on a caring role. Often small things can make a big difference to the life of a carer. Someone who can help with the shopping, taking the dog for a walk, some light housework, changing a bed, will help that carer feel that they are not alone.

If you are a supportive person, who is helpful, caring, with a friendly manner and looking at having a positive influence on another person’s life, then we would love to hear from you!

In exchange for your energy, enthusiasm and commitment, we can offer excellent accredited training, all out of pocket expenses paid for, and potential employment opportunities.

You will be working as part of a team, and we will support you to develop your skills and confidence.

You may be thinking of a career in care, or you may be someone who has been a carer. We would welcome volunteers from all walks of life, as we value all life experiences.
