Crossroads Caring for Carers Dementia Support provide FREE training specifically for carers of people with memory problems or dementia living in Birmingham.
Our experienced Trainer delivers up to date information to help you in your caring role in a relaxed and friendly enironment, either in an informal group setting or one-to-one.
Please Note – During the current coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, we will be following government guidelines and all face to face training is suspended until further notice. However, we can safely offer training sessions via video call (Zoom), see below for details.
Dementia Training Topics
We have a menu of five different training topics which carers can pick and choose from to suit their individual caring journey –
- Dementia Explained, Diagnosis and Support
- Behaviour and Carers Tips
- Infection Control
- Eating and Drinking
- End of Life
Here you will find a summary of the dementia topics currently available.
We are offering dementia training sessions each Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, via group video call (using Zoom). See the Dementia Training Timetable.
There are up to six spaces available on each Zoom session. To avoid disappointment, please book your place on the topic session that you wish you attend.
If you have never used Zoom before, please don’t worry. These sessions are very relaxed and informal and support can be given to join if needed.
Alternatively, the Trainer can go through a topic with you individually on a telephone call. Please speak to the Trainer to arrange a date and time.
